Our Kimmee girl

This month has been a special one for Kimberlee, full of celebrations and special events all for her. That's what happens when you turn 8!

Her birthday had to be a mostly normal day (school, gymnastics), but she got sung to and pampered wherever she went. That evening we went to Chili's Too, then back home for cake and presents.
I am not a fancy-shmancy cake maker (instead I tend to become friends with people who are good at stuff like that and then I reap the benefits). Kimmee wanted to help "decorate" her cake with the sprinkles, and it ended up being quite colorful.
Ed teased her that it took her 8 tries to blow out 8 candles - guess she's not full of hot air.

She got a lot of special presents from her grandparents for her baptism - her first set of scriptures (and the cutest tote for them), a journal, a baptism scrapbook and towel. Those were definitely her favorite gifts this year.

A couple days after her birthday she got another present - getting her ears pierced. She can't wait to take out the studs and wear some of her new dangly earrings.

This last weekend we continued the fun with her birthday party with friends. Kimberlee wanted to invite the whole world, so we reserved the USO theater. We had to draw the line at invitations, and ended up inviting her classes from school and church (she wanted the girls from gymnastics and other friends from church to come as well, but the place only has seating for 18), and nearly all of them came!

With various siblings of friends (plus Kimmee's own siblings) there ended up being 22 kids in the room - it was a little crazy. We watched The Princess and the Frog, ate popcorn and pizza, had cake, and Kimmee opened her million gifts. I think a good time was had by all.

Remember my friends who are good at things? Yep, Angie gave of her talents yet again and made the cake - so cute!

We sure love our Kimmee. She tries so hard to be good and is a great example for her sisters. We're so glad she's part of our family!
