6 months

Karoline is 6 months old!
In celebration of this big milestone, a few days ago she started solid food. Sweet potatoes sounded like a good idea.
She isn't a fan. Of sweet potatoes, of apples, of rice cereal, of pears...of any solid food. But we fight on.
A couple weeks ago she thought hanging out on her knees would be fun.
She can move her legs and she can move her arms, she just can't move them both together. Nevertheless, this is her current favorite position to be in, and sadly it won't be long until she figures it out. Baby-proofing, here we come.
Karoline's personality has really started to show through. She loves to yell. She has a lot of fun trying out different sounds, pitches and dynamics. Maybe she's singing?
On the other hand, she is super-sensitive to loud noises. The vacuum nearly sends her into a panic.
She doesn't cuddle, and is constantly wigging, moving, and grabbing anything she can reach.
She still is happiest when she gets a lot of sleep, BUT...she doesn't get a lot of sleep anymore. We're working on taking regular naps and sleeping well at night. Sometimes she does it, sometimes she doesn't. Sometimes she naps for 2 hours, sometimes for 10 minutes. Last night she got up once, at 4:00...the night before she was up 5 times. I feel like her sleeping habits have taken us hostage.
But her smiles can make it all better. I love it when she grins her gummy grin. I love it when she gently grabs my face (before she gets intense and leaves scratches and bruises). I love her happy chatter. And I love watching her learn all her new tricks.
We just love our roly-poly 6-month-old terrorist.

She is so stinking cute! Sorry about the sleep and the vacuum. Nixon can sleep through the vacuum but try to read a magazine while holding him as he sleeps and he wakes up in seconds. Weirdo.
